Types of Small Business Laws

  • Advertising and Marketing Law: It is important to make sure that your product is advertised, marketed, and labeled correctly to ensure that it is effective and legal; and to know whether it is regulated by the Federal Trade Commission.
    • Truth in Claims – Advertising and marketing must not make any false or fraudulent claims
    • Email – Laws pertaining to who you are allowed to email and what constitutes as illegal spam
    • Telemarketing – Laws relating to who you are allowed to call and the National Do Not Call List.
